I set it to 80 PSI and started it. It shut off when it was done. I was happy with the performance. It was accurate according to my digital tire pressure gauge.

by:

Cheapo connectors; could not even get the extended air hose to thread onto the short hose on the compressor. Dealt with this problem by managing to connect the compressor directly to the tire's valve stem.
Worse yet, after adding air to three tires on the car, the compressor shut off, and wouldn't start up again.

Have 2 vehicles with alloy rims that need constant vigilance during cold weather and this will give me the best way to do it.

by:

I'm impressed. Very speedy delivery. Thanks

Have not used it yet. Looks good.

Works great for bicycle tires and sports balls, took a long time to bring a spare tire for a trailer up to pressure.

I checked with the manufacturer and it will fill a tire at 1.2 cubic feet per minute at its maximum. The tire size will make a big difference in how long it will take to inflate. The average tire will be around 3 to 3-12 cubic feet, so you are most likely looking at just under 3 minutes to fill a tire from empty to full. The hose will screw right onto your valve stem so you will not need to hold the hose to the valve stem

Works great, used it to inflate soccer balls and bicycle tires it is quick and shuts off at preset pressure. It did struggled a little to bring my even trailer spare up to pressure but it did make it.

It stopped working turns on but it won’t pump any air

After owning this unit for almost One Year i must admit i hadn't used it for anything too big until recently. it works fine for my bicycle tires, the tires on my Hand Trucks and other "small" tires and such however whether this was a misunderstanding on my part or whether the specs were a bit ambiguous i'm NOT sure but when i tried to air up a low tire on my pickup this Air Compressor would hardly air up my tire more than a few PSI rather than the 25-30 PSI i needed to re-inflate my tire. i own a 1 Ton, CrewCab Dually and my tire size is 235/75 R16. The tires require 80 PSI and i was barely able to get the ONE low tire beyond approximately 55 PSI and i found the Cigarette Lighter plug on this unit got QUITE hot in the process. after contacting the Manufacturer i found out this little unit was NOT intended for any types of Heavy Duty tires, which would include the 100 PSI required to properly inflate the tires on my RV either, even thought in the ad it shows and stated it WILL air up a Truck Tire. so if you are needing something to handle a Truck Tire i would say this unit would NOT be a good choice for that.

The Bulldog Winch Portable Air Compressor Part # BDW41004 is designed to run in 10 minute cycles, going over this time will cause the unit and plug to get out. The Bulldog Winch Light Duty On-Board Air Kit w Compressor &amp 1 Gallon Tank - 130 psi Part # BDW96TJ might be more conducive to your needs because it has a higher PSI capacity.

The first time I used this compressor it blew a fuse in my truck. I replaced it and then it worked long enough to finish with that tire. I chalked it up as just "one of those things". Next time I tried to use it a few weeks later I was camping and needed to get my travel trailer tires ready to move. The compressor blew the fuse and all the spares I had and still did not have the first tire to a road worthy pressure and I had to pull the trailer with low tires. I emailed the company that made it to complain and they never even replied. I probably should have contacted etrailer but I didn't. I liked the features of the compressor but it doesn't do any good if it constantly blows fuses.

I reached out to the manufacturer and he is concerned about how small this compressor is compared to your large tires and the amount of tires you are trying to air up at once. He says this product claims to air up 31 inch tires, at 14 amps and 1.2 CFM during a 10 min duty cycle. Your truck tires are 31.7 inches per your vehicle in your account, and the pressure you tried to achieve with this compressor would have taken longer than the 10 min duty cycle. Once the compressor goes beyond 10 mins, it heats up and that is when the fuses would probably blow. He recommends a large compressor for the job that you are trying to do.

by:

Worked well for filling bike tires. I loved the automatic shutoff at a set pressure. First time I tried to fill one of my trailer tires, though, it started smoking. Wiring and plugs were fine (not even warm), but the pump couldn't take my trailer tire from 65 to 80 PSI before smoking-out. I've seen mention that it's meant to run in 10-min cycles... this thing is already has auto-shutoff so if it needs cool-down time, it should be configured to do that automatically rather than a user being expected to keep a timer on it.
Compressor is dead now after trying to top-off 1 1/2 trailer tires - it started leaking the air internally.

by:

Unit performed well the first time it was used. Second time the feature to preset the pressure for auto shut off could not be set (blank screen). Contacted customer service twice during warranty period to request a replacement. No response from Bulldog customer service. Very disappointed. Waste of money.

I needed a small powerful compressor that I can carry in my rv. I use to carry a pancake compressor but it took to much space not only that but it was constantly running to fill tank. With the bulldog I just set the pressure I need and all I have to do is wait for it to finish and the best part is that it stops automatically. Great little compressor.

BullDog Winch Portable 12vdc Air Compressor w/PSI Setting.
Very nice and convenient, no need to stand over it with it’s preset psi setting.

by:

The compressor is quieter and faster than compressor’s I’ve had in the past. It's fairly accurate - a pound or two off when checked with a pressure gauge.

by:

Works great but lighter plug-in needs to be about 1’ - 2’ longer. Can barely reach the back wheels on a ford ranger supercab.

by:

Not just for tires. I Used it all summer to blow up pool floats.

by:

Could not get tires up to 65 PSI. I bought a better one

I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you. The compressor does have a 1 year warranty. It works to air up 31 inch tires, at 14 amps and 1.2 CFM during a 10 min duty cycle. If it is running past 10 minutes it will cause fuses to blow.

by:

A great addition to our RV for those unexpected low tires.

by:

Worked well every time I used it. Some inconsistencies in final pressure so needed to double check when it didn’t seem right.

by:

Works great, very satisfied.

by:

have not used it yet

  • Recommended Portable Tire Inflator For A Soccer Mom And Her Van
I am happy to recommend an air compressor for you. Let me say that I can relate to your issue, perhaps more than you realize. After looking thru and comparing what we have in stock, I have come to the conclusion that the Bulldog Winch Portable Air Compressor # BDW41004 will be the way to go. Let me tell you why. It will be extremely easy to set up and use. The power cord will go into the 12v (cigarette lighter) plug inside the vehicle. The air hose is 20' long so it will easily reach...

  • Recommended Air Compressor for Class A Motorhome Tires
I have another option for you, but I do not recommend the Bulldog Winch Portable Air Compressor # BDW41004 for the tires on your class A motorhome. The Bulldog Winch Portable Air Compressor # BDW41004 has a 10 minute duty cycle and then it will shut off. With you likely having larger tires you would want to go with a bigger compressor like the Bulldog Winch Compressor # BDW41000 which is designed for larger tires and has a longer duty cycle than the 10 minutes the # BDW41004 has.

  • BDW41004 What Is The Default PSI Setting And How Warm Does The Compressor Get?
Great question. I have owned one of these Bulldog Portable Air Compressors # BDW41004 for a while now. I can tell you that the default PSI setting is 30 PSI. So you will not have to go all the way from zero each time you use it. Once you set it to 32 PSI it will remain at that setting until it is disconnected from the power source. With the length of the power cord, and the air hose, you can easily set the PSI once and fill all four tires. I have not noticed the compressor getting hot...

We have options for you, though the Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System for Air Helper Springs - Remote and Mobile App - EZ Mount # AL25980EZ is not something that can be used for tire inflation, it is only something you can use for air springs. Correct, the max amp draw is 16 amps for the Bulldog Winch Portable Air Compressor # BDW41004.
